NECA Takes on Django Unchained

In a world where Hot Toys, Enterbay and Medicom are locked in a constant struggle for 12 inch action figure supremacy, many companies figure it isn't even worth it to throw their hats into the ring...unless maybe to make mass retail items that may not look as good, but also don't cost 200 dollars. NECA have never been the ones to shy away from a challenge, and you won't see a softening of sculpts or lacking in paints when they do even the smallest of HeroClix figures..so when we learned they'd be trying their hand at 8 inch figures with cloth outfits...understandably, our interest was piqued.

From the highly anticipated new film from director Quentin Tarantino comes this collection of 8" figures with tailored fabric clothing. These characters are faithful to their western looks and includes the likenesses of such famous Hollywood talent as Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio. Included are...

Django (Jamie Fox)
Dr. King Schultz (Christopher Waltz)
Calvin Candle (Leonardo DiCaprio)
Stephen (Samuel Jackson)
Broomhilda von Shaft (Kerry Washington)
Butch Pooch (James Remar)

Yes, children...you will soon fulfill your dreams of having a James Remar action figure! I'm lookin' at you Heather Buckley. Each figure stands approx. 8" tall with tailored western clothing and authentic weapons and accessories, all displayed in window box packaging.

Here's a little eye candy to get your imagination flowing...

No word on a price point, but we hear they'll turn up around April 2013 (provided we survive the apocalypse, natch), so I expect we'll see them at Toy Fair in February. Until then, keep watching and we'll post an update when one turns up!

    1. Nono...you must first survive the apocalypse. Only THEN will you be worthy of the Remar idol.

    1. Stylized doesn't count as a likeness...usually.
