The Porg-Pocalypse Begins

Hasbro Star Wars The Last Jedi Porg Plush Electronic DollLadies and Gentlemen, this was always a no-brainer, so I'm not going to say anything so ridiculous as "YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!" Disney's new adorable, saucer-eyed Star Wars mascot known as "Porg" are sure to be flooding shelves of retail chains and mom and pops alike come Fall...and it should get increasingly worse into the holiday season. We predict at lease three scales of figures, a Funko Pop, Dorb, and Mystery Mini, talking plush, standard squishy plush and an ocean of accessories, perhaps even including a Porg printed hoodie with a bazillion repeating Porgs. For now, though, we'll just show you the first Porg stand-alone toy we've discovered...

No info on this fuzzy lil sucker as yet, but we know he's soft and at least semi-squishable and at perhaps somewhat interactive, in that you rub his belly and he'll make mind-bendingly adorable noises at you. They are THE PORG. Resistance is Futile.

"Porgs are native to Ahch-To, and can be found dwelling along the cliffs of the island where Luke and Rey are. In many ways, they’re the Star Wars version of puffins. They build nests. They can fly. Their babies are called porglets… Given how rarely their island has visitors, their curiosity outweighs any skittishness they may have… Ever since that roadside scavenger let out that belch outside Jabba’s palace in Return of the Jedi, the idea that there’s an entire animal kingdom living amid the drama and adventure of the Star Wars saga is a compelling one. Besides, porgs are cute. You fall into those deep, soulful eyes. I think a lot of people are going to want a porg as a pet."
